Southern Utah is a place like no other. I have always been an ocean girl but there is something about the desert that always calls me back. Maybe it is the fact that millions of years ago the red rock was the ocean floor and the desert was covered by the sea.
Last month was my fourth trip to Southern Utah and I headed back to Moab with my older sister Kacie and her best friend Kiley. Kacie’s husband Alex installed a third seat into their van so lucky for us we got to live the van life rather than the subaru and tent life.
Moab is becoming a very popular destination for travelers and it is no surprise why. It is known for its enormous red rock formations and two main national parks; Canyonlands and Arches National Park. With infinite hikes, outdoor activities, and beautiful landscapes Moab will not disappoint you. The Colorado River also runs through Moab, so if you are lucky enough to find a camping spot along the river I would not pass it up!
For me, my all time favorite thing about Moab is it forces you to disconnect from the rest of the world and just enjoy the company of the people you are with and the environment that surrounds you. Days spent hiking together turn into nights around the campfire laughing and drinking beers under the stars.
Here are some of the moments we captured on our van trip! Who wants to come with us next time?
